Sing Your Song

As the bird sings its song,

So sing your song of life.

Not for reason, wealth or fame,

But because you are.

And the sun shines on you,

And trees tremble in the wind.

And dew drops nestle in the grass,

And flowers turn their perfumed faces skyward.

To the Sun.

And they are.

And because they  are,

Birds Sing.

Of Love and Life

The roses round the door must fade,
And even flowers cast their shade.

And Love and Life are just the same.
They live and breathe and bloom and wane..

And bloom again with sun and rain.

And so it is with man and wife..
That love still blooms amid the strife

That living side by side must bring
To any two imperfect things..

That struggle upwards toward the sun
And reproduce and dream and run

And are as  two, yet are as one.

~As God has planned, as to confound
And make us look up from the ground..

And search the heavens for our place
And seek his holy, shadowed grace..

Before the rose within us fades
And casts  our lives into the shade.
